Official statement regarding the postponed friendly match between CSKA and U Craiova
This is the official statement regarding the postponed friendly match between CSKA and the Romanian U Craiova
After discussions between representatives of CSKA and FC U Craiova, an agreement was reached between the two clubs to play a friendly match scheduled to take place at the "Ogosta" stadium in Montana. The match was supposed to be held on Friday (January 12) at 14:00.
Following the deterioration of meteorological conditions and critically low temperatures in Bulgaria, CSKA was informed by the hosts, FC Montana, that the facility is unfit to host the match between the two teams. The reason for this is the frozen turf at the "Ogosta" stadium, making it impossible to hold the meeting.
We at CSKA consider it unreasonable to risk the health of the players. The purpose of such matches is to work towards the optimal form of the athletes and teams, not to cause injuries.
Representatives of the Romanian club suggested holding the match in our northern neighbour, but considering CSKA's training camp schedule, this was unattainable for our club.
We wish FC U Craiova success in their future sporting endeavors!
